You can be Certainly Certain of Heaven. Are you absolutely sure?
There are many things today that you cannot really
be sure of:
-
Will your health continue?
-
Will you remain employed this year?
-
Will America see another terrorist attack?
-
Will you ever be seriously injured in an
automobile accident?
Although you can never truly know the answers to
these questions, there is one answer, to one question, that you can be
absolutely sure of. Here is the question:
If you died right now, are you 100% sure that
you would go to heaven?
You may ask, “Can anyone really know for sure?”
Look what God says about going to heaven:
These things have I written unto you that
believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal
life. 1 John 5:13
You can know and God wants you to know!
Look what God says about getting to heaven:
As it is written, There is none righteous, no,
not one: Romans 3:10
Heaven is for the righteous. Unfortunately, no one
qualifies as righteous. Righteousness is not determined by good qualities you
have or by good works you have done or may do. Righteousness is determined by
God, and is defined as being without sin or without any stain of sin.
For all have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God; Romans 3:23
God, in all His glory, is in heaven. Everyone has
sinned and sin causes us to fall short of getting to heaven. Heaven is a place
of righteousness because no sin is there. Our sin will keep us out of heaven,
and condemn us to hell. Therefore, sin is the problem that must be dealt with.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of
God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
The wages of sin (physical death) is deserved. But
the gift of God (eternal life) is not deserved. You are going to die someday.
The question is what will happen after you die. The Lord Jesus Christ wants to
give you the free gift of eternal life right now. To die without the gift of eternal life
is to be condemned to hell for everlasting punishment. God does not want anyone
to go to hell. He has provided a way to be saved, and this way is available to
everyone.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
The word commendeth means proved. God did not just
say He loved us, He proved it. Jesus is the sinless Son of God. Jesus paid our
eternal penalty for sin when He died for us on the cross. This is how the gift
of eternal life was purchased. Yes, it is free to us, but it cost Jesus His
life. He loved us so much that He died for us.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
Here is how you can get the free gift of eternal
life:
-
Admit you are a sinner and need a Savior.
-
Realize that Jesus already paid your eternal
penalty for sin.
-
Turn from your sin, and turn to the Savior.
-
Ask Jesus to save you and give you the free gift
of Eternal Life.
-
If you believe it and ask Jesus Christ for it, He
will give it.
Would you pray, right now, and ask Jesus to be your
Savior?
A Simple Prayer of Faith
Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I know that my
sin will keep me out of heaven. I believe that you died on the cross for me and
paid my eternal penalty for sin. Right now, I am turning from my sin and asking you to be my Savior. I
gladly accept your free gift to me of eternal life. I am trusting in You, Jesus,
and in You alone, to take me to heaven when I die. Thank you for my free gift of
eternal life. Amen.
